Information for players
Players arrive at 8AM for check in. Team captains will grab informational packets for their team.
At 9AM, there will be a captains meeting to go over the rules one more time. Captains are expected to pass this information along to teammates so everyone knows what the ref will be calling.
Games begin at 9AM, right after the captain’s meeting. All teams must be ready to go by then.
Teams will stay on one court for the duration of the tournament, where they will play through their pool, round robin style.
Games are 10 minutes long, or to 21, whichever comes first.
4’s Rules

Insane doubles will be illegal.
Level of Play Descriptions
- Mixed Rec
This division is designed for both low and high recreational players. If you're new to 4’s or not yet competing at a higher level, this may be the right fit for you. However, we kindly ask that absolute beginners refrain from signing up. Players in this division should anticipate consistent three-hit play, including some hard-driven attacks. Power and upper-intermediate players should opt for our more advanced division.
- Mixed Intermediate
This is our upper division, designed for lower and upper intermediate players. If you're experienced with the 4’s format or have a strong volleyball background, this is the right level for you. Players in this division should expect a fast-paced game with specialized positions, consistent three-hit rallies, and frequent hard-driven attacks. Strong fundamental skills, strategic play, and competitive intensity are essential at this level.
